According to Marca, r/u/m/o/r/s that La Liga leaders Barcelona have postponed plans to buy a new right-sided defender may elicit a similarly disgruntled response from the Blaugrana faithful.
Sergi Roberto is 31. Sergino Dest is not at the needed level. Meanwhile, Ronald Araujo and Jules Kounde are much more at ease in the center. And the less said about Hector Bellerin, the better.
But, with another summer of cost-cutting at Camp Nou approaching, it seems that Barcelona is reserving whatever finances they do have for other sections of Xavi’s team. This might play into the hands of Manchester United, who just knocked Barcelona out of the Europa League.
Would Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard wind up at Manchester United?
According to The Athletic, United is in contact with Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard. The World Cup-winning France international is known for his thundering long-range finishes. Argentina and Republic of Ireland fans will tell you that. In 2022/23, he has seven goals for both the club and the nation.
Yet Pavard’s eye for the fantastic isn’t the only thing he brings to the table.
He, like Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez, would come with an impressive collection of silverware. Pavard has won 13 awards in his professional career, including three Bundesliga crowns with Bayern. The 27-year-old is also very flexible, capable of excelling as both a right-back and a center-half.
Diogo Dalot is still out of form, while Aaron’s Wan-future Bissaka’s is unknown. As a result, 90Min believes that Manchester United is also interested in Red Bull Salzburg’s next youngster. Bosnian prodigy Amar Dedic is youthful, attack-minded, technically brilliant, and well-suited to Ten Hag’s style.
