EXCL: Nike intends to revive the Kobe brand before Mamba Day

According to rumors, Nike will relaunch their Kobe Bryant line before Mamba Day.

Bryant, a legendary member of the Los Angeles Lakers, unfortunately perished in a helicopter crash in January 2020. Bryant, one of the best players in Lakers and NBA history, will leave a lasting impression thanks to his partnership with Nike.

Bryant had various distinctive shoes throughout his playing career, and players from all throughout the league have continued to wear them.

DeMar DeRozan, a standout with the Chicago Bulls, elucidated Bryant’s sneakers’ distinctive qualities and appeal back in 2020.

When it comes to the [Michael] Jordan line, it “will be up there with Jordan,” according to DeRozan. “The Kobe line will be the following line that you must absolutely discuss. He left a lasting legacy through the way he elevated the shoe game, just like Michael Jordan had done before.

Bryant really signed with Nike in 2003 after starting his NBA career as an Adidas athlete. After the Zoom Kobe 1—his first custom-made Nike shoe—was created in 2005, he continued to have trademark shoes built up until his retirement.

Bryant averaged 25.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 44.7 percent from the field and 32.9 percent from beyond the arc during the course of his playing career. He helped the Lakers achieve great success during his tenure, making him one of the most significant individuals in the team’s history.

Bryant earned two scoring titles and was selected to 18 All-Star teams throughout his illustrious NBA career.

Under Bryant’s leadership, Los Angeles won five NBA championships, and he also took home two NBA Finals MVP awards. Shaquille O’Neal and Bryant formed one of the best NBA teams in history, and after O’Neal left the Lakers for the Lakers, Bryant found success in Los Angeles by partnering with Pau Gasol.

All three players’ winning numbers have been retired by the Lakers in recognition of their outstanding performance for the team.

It would be intriguing to see what Nike has planned for the Kobe brand’s rebirth and how much of his family will be engaged. Fans must now wait little under two months for the relaunch to take place.
