‘End love’: With Man United ‘expensive’ failure, ETH has decided to cut ties

As the Dutchman plans a brutal summer clearout with several of the first team’s talents anticipated to be sold, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is growing irritated with Jadon Sancho.

Sancho entered the game as a substitute in Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Newcastle United but made little to no difference.

In what was an overall weak performance by the Red Devils, the English winger was frequently outmatched in his contests and hardly posed a danger going forward.

When he first came back from exile, Sancho put on impressive displays and even scored a few goals to help the squad, but like many of his teammates, he has recently struggled to be productive.

Sancho is reportedly starting to irritate Ten Hag as United prepares to receive offers for a number of their players, according to The Manchester Evening News.

Despite the fact that Jadon Sancho has started five times in the past five months, it is believed that United will consider bids for backup goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

Erik ten Hag, according to Samuel Luckhurst, “wants Manchester United to be more merciless with a squad clearout as part of their next phase of rebuilding.”

The following players will be made available for transfer: Harry Maguire, Brandon Williams, Alex Telles, Anthony Martial, and Eric Bailly if he does not reach the required number of appearances to force Marseille to make his loan move permanent.

Although Scott McTominay is the youngest of United’s four senior central midfielders, Luckhurst continues, “Even though Newcastle have expressed interest in him, United have not provisionally planned for his departure.”

Moreover, Anthony Elanga and Facundo Pellistri might be leaving.

The two wings are scheduled for loan stints throughout the upcoming season, according to The Peoples Person.

Amad Diallo is anticipated to join the team and compete for a position under Ten Hag as a result of the anticipated departures of Pellistri and Elanga.

Erik ten Hag blames lack of maturity

After Newcastle threw the race for the top four wide open, Erik ten Hag lashed out at his Manchester United players, accusing them of lacking maturity, grit, and hunger.

Eddie Howe’s team got some payback for losing to United in the League Cup final at Wembley in February by moving up to third, ahead Manchester United on goal differential.

Ten Hag was vehement in his criticism of his team’s performance, as United only managed one shot on target and have gone three games without scoring in the Premier League.

The United boss expressed amazement that his team couldn’t match the opponent’s tenacity and zeal. “You know what we will be doing before you travel to Saint James’ Park and Newcastle, especially after we won the cup. So, if you want to win important games, you must be mature, and I didn’t see that on the field today (Sunday).

“As much as I hate to say it, they were better, particularly in tenacity, passion, and desire. They prevailed this week because they wanted to win more.

After the game, the United defender called the performance and attitude “unacceptable,” and according to Luke Shaw, there were candid words said among the players in the locker room.

Without any staff present, “the players had a chat,” Shaw recalled. “That wasn’t even close to good enough, so we had to speak up and take responsibility.

“Everyone needs to fight for each other when we take the field, but this season, that hasn’t always been the case. We must acknowledge the issues and take swift action to address them because, despite these results and performances, we are still capable of having a very successful season.

“I always talk honestly after games and poor outcomes, and our team must do the same. Newcastle is a very good team, in my opinion, however I don’t believe they won the match due to superior play.

“They won it because they had more passion, hunger, ambition, attitude, and motivation than we did.

It is not possible. They wanted it more since it was a huge game. That’s not going to happen at Manchester United.

“We didn’t generate a lot, and you might argue that (this outcome) was inevitable even before the international break.

We have three days to get it back up because Wednesday’s game against Brentford will be very difficult. “We have slipped levels, and it was easy to see the levels were not there.”

Shaw’s appraisal of the game was in line with Ten Hag’s: “I fully agree, and that was also my opinion of this game. They were more determined, more combative, and had more drive in many instances on the pitch, and then you can’t win games.”

In the 83rd minute, which saw Newcastle score their second goal, Ten Hag justified his choice to replace both centre backs, Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane.

We were down 1-0 at that point and had to risk everything, but before that happened, Ten Hag remarked, we brought in Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho to gain more possession.
