Roberto Firmino’s successor gives nod to Liverpool transfer after $49.6m offer

According to reports, Liverpool has made a bid for a player who may step in for Roberto Firmino and give Mohamed Salah some much-needed protection.

After the departure of Sadio Mané last summer, Liverpool fans will be bidding goodbye to another Jurgen Klopp icon for the second time in a year when Roberto Firmino moves on to pastures new at the end of the current campaign.

Even though it was really difficult for Firmino to go, it was the correct decision. both for the participant and the team. For the club’s long-term future, Liverpool is starting a crucial phase.

Klopp needs a change of scenery since his team has obviously reached its limit and is one of the Premier League’s oldest. He has assembled a group that has achieved everything. But, he must now start over, and while he can save some of the previous house’s foundations, he cannot keep everything.

So do the Reds genuinely require Firmino’s immediate replacement? That inquiry is irrelevant. Similar to how Luis Diáz replaced Mané during the January transfer window last year, Cody Gakpo has already appeared to take Firmino’s place at Liverpool.

Liverpool, meanwhile, still needs to make a further acquisition. The ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋ will still have a gaping hole in it. It might only be a less exact replacement. similar to how Darwin Nunez arrived last summer to provide Klopp with a different kind of ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋ ᴅᴀɴɢᴇʀ.

This time, Liverpool must concentrate on the right wing. Mohamed Salah is still going strong, but he won’t be around forever, especially if he is to be relied upon on the right side given that the Egyptian will turn 31 this summer. He is currently Liverpool’s only viable backup option, and that type of pressure can be taxing on a player. Consider Fabinho’s deterioration this season as one such illustration.

Thus, a player who could relieve Salah of some of the pressure while also adding depth to other parts of the ᴀssᴀᴜʟᴛ would be the ideal ᴏꜰꜰᴇɴsɪᴠᴇ hire for Liverpool. He would essentially be a hybrid option, and it appears that Liverpool is now interested in him for that reason.

Ekrem Konur, a transfer specialist, claims that Liverpool is preparing a $49.6 million (£40 million/€45.5 million) offer for Jesper Lindstrøm, a 23-year-old Danish ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋᴇʀ playing for Eintracht Frankfurt.

The dynamic ᴏꜰꜰᴇɴsɪᴠᴇ playmaker, who has primarily played in Frankfurt’s ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋɪɴɢ midfield position this season, is also capable of playing on the right flank and has done so on a number of times while contributing to 13 goals for his team.

Fast and direct, Lindstrøm has previously played as a center-forward, a holding midfielder, a left winger, and even in central midfield at times in his career. He has served in nine different roles in all. That player certainly sounds like the kind that would fit Klopp perfectly.

Lindstrøm is a perfect fit for Klopp because he enjoys modifying flexible players to his liking. This is especially true given that Lindstrm can also play in midfield, which might help Klopp address a different problem area.

But more than his adaptability, he would be a desirable ᴘʀᴏsᴘᴇᴄᴛ at Anfield. Lindstrøm has praised Liverpool in the past and declared to be a lifelong fan of the Reds, even saying it would be “great” for him to join the team in the future.
