LeBron James, the star player for the Lakers, has shown us a variety of ways to spend his offseason over the last couple of seasons. He participated in a lot of Drew League and Pro-Am games last year to stay in competitive mode and provide the basketball world the chance to watch him play in games more than just the typical NBA ones.
However, it is well known that James values seeing his children thrive, and now that both of his sons—Bronny and Bryce—are achieving success in the basketball world, his wish is being fulfilled. Bronny will play for the USC Trojans next season after completing his senior year at Sierra Canyon, but Bryce will only be a sophomore.
Bryce, who reportedly reached a height of 6’6 after a significant growth spurt, has enormous potential. He is more lankier than his older brother, and when he is on the court, he almost always looks for his own shot. Before high school basketball resumes, he has continued to play for LeBron’s own AAU/EYBL team, “Strive For Greatness,” and he was already making an impact in his first few games at Nike’s annual Peach Jam.
But now that the Lakers’ season is finished and a number of free agency signings are in the past, LeBron made the decision to use some of his downtime to coach his youngest son and the rest of the team in the Peach Jam rather than just watch him play.
Giving back to the basketball community and making sure to assist the upcoming generation of hoopers is ultimately what it’s all about. Bronny’s support will follow him wherever he goes, but James has made it obvious that he longs to play in the NBA with Bronny for at least one season.
It’s wonderful to know that Bronny will play at USC and Bryce will finish high school at Campbell Hall High School, both of which are close enough to The King for him to see a game.
No matter how famous LeBron James is, watching his sons play basketball and supporting their development will always come first in his priorities.
