Jose Mourinho eyes reunion with Man United star at Olimpico

Scott McTominay of Manchester United is allegedly a target for Rome.

Gianluca Di Marzio, an Italian reporter, has revealed the Serie A team’s interest in the 26-year-old.

Should a deal be reached, McTominay will rejoin former United manager Jose Mourinho.

Erik ten Hag, a Carrington product, is reportedly open to offers this summer, but the club is not in a haste to offload him because he is a dependable, veteran option in the middle of the park.

But selling McTominay would bring in cash that might be utilized to enhance the team this summer. After spending £55 million on Mason Mount, Ten Hag is eager to sign a new striker, goalie, and possibly another midfielder. However, money may be limited unless the team manages a large number of departures.

Premier League teams are interested in McTominay

It remains to be seen if Newcastle United will rekindle their pursuit of McTominay in the coming weeks, as they have previously been strongly connected with a deal for the player.

Last season, he was more of an off-the-bench player as a result of the club bringing in Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, who Ten Hag preferred above McTominay and Fred.
