Nikola Jokic, the Serbian basketball star who recently helped the Denver Nuggets secure the NBA championship, has returned to his homeland for a well-deserved vacation. Known for his introverted nature, Jokic has gained attention for his straightforward and honest interviews, where he openly expresses his disinterest in the spotlight and attention.
In one instance, when asked about the significance of winning the championship, Jokic simply referred to basketball as “just a job” to him. Following the Nuggets’ victory, Jokic was taken by surprise when he learned about the planned parade and expressed his eagerness to return to Serbia instead.
Fans spot him rafting
However, even in his home country, Jokic is unable to find the peace and quiet he seeks. During a rafting trip with friends, Serbian fans recognized him and enthusiastically chanted “MVP” in his direction. Despite his reluctance towards attention, Jokic modestly acknowledged the tribute by raising his hand. Although he prefers to stay out of the limelight, Jokic openly expresses his love for his country and undoubtedly felt gratified, even if quietly, by the recognition from his fellow Serbs.
