‘Next signing’: Man Utd pushing for fast £39m deal after Onana complete transfer

Following the closing of the Andre Onana transaction, Manchester United has already begun planning for their upcoming acquisition, according to writer Dean Jones’ report to GIVEMESPORT.

David de Gea is anticipated to be replaced between the posts by Onana, while Erik ten Hag is still concentrating on adding players to other areas of the field.

Transfers involving Manchester United

Boss ten Hag has lost little time in strengthening his squad in preparation for the 2023–24 season following a successful first season in command, which saw United finish inside the top four and win the League Cup.

Mason Mount, who earlier this month left his hometown club Chelsea for the 20-time Premier League champions, became the first newcomer of the offseason when United approved a £55 million transfer for him (Sky Sports).

A deal for Inter Milan goalkeeper Onana, who is rumored to be interested in a move to Old Trafford, is reportedly close to being finalized, according to the MailOnline.

There is a growing belief that Onana will replace de Gea as United’s starting goalkeeper after the Spaniard left the Red Devils at the conclusion of his contract, despite claims to the contrary.

Onana isn’t the only Serie A player being linked to United, though; Rasmus Hojlund of Atalanta is also high on their list of goals.

The Stretford-based organization is reportedly preparing a £50 million proposal for the Danish striker, who only recently joined the Italian team last August, according to a report by The Telegraph. However, other sources suggest a transaction might cost as little as £39 million.

Jones recently stated in an interview with GIVEMESPORT that Hojlund was eager to join United and that it was anticipated that a deal would move forward once Onana arrived in Manchester.

How has Dean Jones responded to Hojlund and United so far?

Journalist Jones provided a new update to GIVEMESPORT regarding United’s potential deal for Hojlund, suggesting the striker might end up at Old Trafford.

Jones said the following about the 20-year-old: “In terms of Hojlund himself, this is the next transfer that Man United has prepped, as the Onana one appears to go ahead.

“I believe that Hojlund’s apparent commitment to joining them at this time gives them encouragement.

Therefore, I believe that everyone is optimistic that this will work out. However, with preseason set to begin, you only really have a few weeks to get your squad together, and United’s forward choices for the upcoming season aren’t likely to be that deep. It’s not far enough along to ensure that at this moment.

It would be wonderful if they could come up with a scenario in which Hojlund joins the Premier League and Mason Greenwood moves to Italy.
