According to BILD journalist Christian Falk in an exclusive interview with GIVEMESPORT, Liverpool sporting director Jorg Scmadtke has a connection that could aid the club in signing Manu Kone.
It comes as no surprise that Jurgen Klopp’s team is linked with Jordan Henderson because his rumored departure would leave them lacking in the middle of the park.
Manu Kone, recent transfers to Liverpool
Over the course of June, Liverpool’s interest in Manu Kone increased as Klopp sought to further address his obvious midfield weaknesses.
David Lynch of Football Insider said at the beginning of June that the team had contacted Mönchengladbach regarding hiring Kone.
There is, however, alarming news. Gladbach’s manager, Gerardo Seoane, stated that Kone is currently injured and will be out of play for six weeks, though it is anticipated that this will be all that he needs.
The fact that there was no significant injury is what matters. There will be a six-week wait. Seoane stated as reported by Bulinews in the DPA.
It is unclear whether his injury will prevent a trade from going through, but it would prevent the young player from participating in preseason games in either Germany or England.
What did Chrisitan Falk have to say about Liverpool’s midfield lineup? Falk claimed in an exclusive interview with GIVEMESPORT that the Reds’ sporting director Jorg Scmadtke is a die-hard supporter and that the entire team has the same affection for Kone.
He declared: “He’s also on Liverpool’s list. Schmadtke has been watching him for six months, you know. The ironic part is that his son manages Gladbach, so you can see how quickly things can change.
How will Manu Kone contribute?
With his current issue excluded, the engine room operator missed just three games while missing 61 days of work during the 2022–23 season.
Fortunately for Kone and his employers, the majority of his off-season absences occurred; yet, this is still concerning.
The Colombes-born jewel, on the other hand, is a midfield enforcer who will mostly attribute his interest to his defensive prowess. According to Fbref, he completed 1.97 successful take-ons last season, along with 1.52 blocks and 2.55 tackles per 90.
Jacek Kulig, a football scout, said that playing with Kone is “like having one extra man on the pitch,” implying that he is accustomed to covering every blade of grass, which will impress Klopp.
In the big picture of the football market, Klopp might get his hands on one for the future for merely £34m, as reported by Fabrizio Romano, and at just 22 years old.
