Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, two crucial midfielders for Liverpool, appear to be moving closer to being sold to Saudi Arabian teams, and Fabrizio Romano has named his favorite choice to take over as captain of the Reds.
Romano stated he wasn’t aware of a definitive decision being made yet in his exclusive column for CaughtOffside, but he offered the suggestion that he’d go with Virgil van Dijk as the new Liverpool captain.
“Al Ettifaq and Liverpool have finally reached a deal over Jordan Henderson. He will be acquired for £12 million plus add-ons, and the Al Ittihad contract with Fabinho is also being examined. He has a personal contract, but there has been no medical examination, so we are simply waiting for the clubs to approve everything, according to Romano.
The Liverpool players realize Henderson’s amazing contract offer, he said, so there are no concerns there. Virgil van Dijk would make a great contender, but it’s yet unclear who will serve as the next captain.
Henderson and Fabinho will undoubtedly need to be replaced in the transfer market, thus Liverpool is definitely entering a hard new phase.
In his CaughtOffside post from yesterday, LFC writer Neil Jones expanded on this topic by examining connections to players like Romeo Lavia and Sofyan Amrabat.
Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai were already acquired by Liverpool this summer, and one can only assume that they will add more players to that part of the field in the coming days.
