Just a few hours after beating Lyon 1-0 in a friendly match at Murrayfield in Edinburgh (Scotland), MU’s 31-player squad departed for the US to tour. The club also confirmed that Brazilian player Fred was not on the flight to the US.

In a statement, MU said, Fred – who played 45 minutes in the win over the French team in a pre-season friendly match, is expected to join the rest of the team soon. The fact that Fred missed the tour has sparked a lot of information that the Brazilian star is about to leave MU with a new stop at Fulham.

Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro – who missed the friendlies against Leeds in Oslo last week and Lyon in Scotland this past week, will be given extra rest, but will still be included in the squad for the tour.

Goalkeeper Andre Onana, who recently completed a medical to sign a £47m move to Old Trafford, will be on a late flight as soon as he has completed the necessary paperwork.

United will kick off their tour of the US with a meeting with Arsenal in New Jersey on Saturday, before facing Wrexham, Real Madrid and Dortmund.

Meanwhile, a separate group of players, including newly signed short term centre back Jonny Evans, are traveling to San Diego ahead of the game against Wrexham, where coach Ten Hag will bring on the academy youngsters.

Ten Hag’s men will end their pre-season series of friendlies with two confrontations, with Lens at Old Trafford and Bilbao in Dublin.
