David Beckham in tears after Messi scored ‘insane’ free-kick winner for Inter Miami

David Beckham, co-owner of Inter Miami, was spotted in tears when Lionel Messi scored a fantastic free-kick winner in his debut for the team.

The World Cup winner took the field for the first time in a Miami jersey as the club faced Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup.

As he walked onto the pitch in the 53rd minute, the 20,000+ fans inside the DRV PNK Stadium erupted in applause.

The 36-year-old put on a smooth display for the fans, proving that even in the MLS, he’s still the football GOAT.

But fans couldn’t have picked a better time to see the tiny magician make his debut.

Late in the game, with the score locked at 1-1, the number 10 was fouled just outside the area.

It was the ideal position for Messi, who, like we’ve seen so many times before, stepped up and placed the ball into the top corner.

You couldn’t write a better script for the Argentine to make his MLS debut, showcasing once again why he is still the game’s GOAT.

David Beckham could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head in bewilderment, tears streaming down his cheeks, after the Argentine delivered a Beckham-esque moment.

The Englishman was all too accustomed with curling one into the top corner in the final stages of a game, but this occasion moved him.

Beckham and Messi hugged on the sidelines after the game.

It was a genuine ‘I was there’ moment from one of the greatest athletes of all time.

Sergio Busquets, a former Barcelona player, also made his debut for Miami.

Chants of ‘Messi, Messi, Messi’ could be heard throughout the stadium as fans finally got to see the moment they had all been waiting for.
