Nottingham Forest to complete Elanga deal for ₤15M, wants to buy Dean Henderson

Anthony Elanga, a forward for Manchester United, will be acquired by Nottingham Forest for £15M.

Elanga will undergo a medical in Nottingham this weekend before becoming Steve Cooper’s second summer addition.

The Swedish national team’s bid to join Forest, who earlier on Friday agreed to pay United a price, was rejected by Everton, West Ham, and Marseille. Moving to the City Ground will result in Elanga ending a nine-year relationship with United.

Cooper is stepping up his season-long training, and Forest are also close to signing Ola Aina of Nigeria.

After arriving in Spain on Friday to undertake a medical at the team’s training facility in Valencia, Aina will sign a free transfer agreement to join Forest. After leaving Serie A team Torino at the end of the last campaign, the 26 year old is again available.

Aina, a former Chelsea trainee who can play at right back or on the wing, last played in the Premier League during a loan stint with Fulham in the 2020–21 season.

Other signings are being worked on by Forest, with a new goalkeeper being the top priority.

Dean Henderson of Manchester United is still their primary target, and it’s believed that negotiations have advanced over the past 24 hours. Henderson is presently recovering from a thigh injury after making an impression while on loan at the City Ground last season.

In order to prepare for their second consecutive season in the top level, Forest is also looking for a second goalkeeper, a left back, and a central midfielder.

As a result of center back Moussa Niakhate dislocating his elbow during the friendly match against Valencia, Cooper’s plans in Spain have been somewhat disrupted. With the injury, Niakhate is anticipated to miss at least six weeks of action.

Harry Toffolo, a defender for Forest, and the Football Association have reached an extension for his answer to 375 alleged gambling law violations.

The charge might result in a lengthy suspension for Toffolo from football, and the FA has granted him extra time to prepare his defense by moving the hearing from this Wednesday to July 26.

The FA’s inquiry into the 27-year-old’s actions during a three-year period from 2014 to 2017 could result in severe consequences.

The FA’s Rule E1(b), which forbids any footballer from placing any kind of bet on the game, was broken 232 times by Brentford forward Ivan Toney, who received an eight-month suspension from the game in May.
