Cristiano Ronaldo has surpassed Kylie Jenner in terms of earnings per Instagram post

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently the highest-earning Instagrammer.

According to HopperHQ, the Portuguese star, 38, has replaced Kylie Jenner, 25, after it was revealed that he earns £1.87 million each sponsored post, while Jenner earns £1.47 million.

Ronaldo has endorsed a number of firms in recent years, most notably posting to his 597 million followers for sponsors and sports site LiveScore, as well as wellness company Therabody and cryptocurrency exchangers Binance.

Jenner earns millions of dollars from her postings while also being the face of fashion giants Jean Paul Gaultier and having her own incredibly successful brands, such as Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Swim. She has 397 million followers on Twitter.

Lionel Messi, Ronaldo’s long-time rival, is third on the list, earning £1.38 million per sponsored post. Messi is followed by Selena Gomez in fourth place, and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in fifth place.

When he was playing for Juventus, Ronaldo’s social sites grew tremendously, with him ranking third on the Instagram Rich List in 2019. Ronaldo left Juventus in 2021, signing a two-year contract with Manchester United before leaving after his controversial interview with Piers Morgan, joining Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia in January.

Ronaldo played with Real Madrid for nine years, winning four Champions Leagues and two La Ligas, as well as three Premier Leagues and a Champions League with Manchester United. Ronaldo won the Serie A title with Juventus in consecutive years from 2018 to 2020, having previously won five Ballon d’Or awards.

His net worth is estimated to be about $500 million, but it will climb over the next two years after signing a 30-month contract with the club owned by the Public Investment Fund, Saudi Arabia’s national wealth fund.

His transfer to Germany earned him up to £175 million, and Forbes dubbed him the highest-paid athlete earlier this year, reportedly earning £109 million per year. According to Forbes, only three athletes have earned more money off the field than Ronaldo in a single year: Roger Federer, Conor McGregor, and Tiger Woods.

Jenner, meanwhile, is ahead of three of her sisters who are also in the top ten: Kim Kardashian (£1.31m per post), Khloe Kardashian (£1.03m), and Kendall Jenner (£1m). Jenner recently remarked that she and her family feel a responsibility to the young people who watch her posts.

“We have huge influence and, like, what are we doing with that power?” says Kim Kardashian in the latest episode of The Kardashians. I just see so many young girls on the internet now who have completely edited (their photos). I went through that stage as well. I think I’m in a better place now, but other individuals can instill doubts in you.”

Ariana Grande (seventh, £1.3 million) and Beyonce (eighth, £1.08 million) round out the top ten highest-earning Instagram users.

Ronaldo’s net worth is reported to be in excess of £370 million.
