Liverpool are on the hunt for a defensive midfielder as Fabinho is poised to join Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are said to have added two new midfielders to the shortlist to replace Fabinho: Crystal Palace’s Cheick Doucoure and Aston Villa’s Boubacar Kamara.
Liverpool still need to recruit more midfielders
The port city’s midfield is undergoing an overhaul as Jordan Henderson prepares to join a new team and Fabinho is also poised to leave. Before that, they had parted ways with Naby Keita, James Milner and Chamberlain – all of whom could play midfield.
Jurgen Klopp was quick to bring Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai to Anfield, but he knows that’s not enough. His next target for the midfield is Southampton’s Romeo Lavia.

However, Lavia is only 19 years old and Liverpool need someone more experienced to replace Fabinho next season.

Cheick Doucoure and Boubacar Kamara are Liverpool’s top targets
Cheick Doucoure won Crystal Palace’s Player of the Year after an impressive debut season at Selhurst Park, following a move from Rens. The Mali international is known for his enthusiasm, his willingness to roll, and his ability to control the ball, and that’s exactly what Liverpool are looking for in a defensive midfield position.
Boubacar Kamara is also the same type of player and is highly appreciated after being brought to Villa Park by former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.
In addition to the two names mentioned above, the Anfield team is also targeting Sofyan Amrabat, Ryan Gravenberch and Joao Palhinha.
