Roberto Firmino’s Unexpected Journey: Exploring His Path After Leaving Liverpool for Al-Ahli

After departing Liverpool, Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino made a surprising move to Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia. Upon his arrival at the airport, he was greeted by a large crowd of Al Ahli supporters, who embraced and took pictures with the new star player. Firmino joined the team for his first training session and will wear the number 10 shirt.

The 31-year-old forward had several proposals from top European clubs, including Real Madrid and Dortmund, as his contract with Liverpool expired. However, he chose Al Ahli, lured by a substantial offer of up to £400,000 per week, more than double his previous salary at Liverpool.

Al Ahli, a club owned by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF), is the reigning champion of Saudi Arabia’s top division and will be making its debut in the SPL the following season. Firmino’s contract with Al Ahli runs until June 2026.

It’s worth noting that Al Ahli had previously won the SPL in the 2015-2016 season but was later relegated. After being promoted again, the team is yet to announce a new head coach, despite rumors linking Jose Mourinho and Max Allegri to the club.

In other news, Cristiano Ronaldo, despite Portugal’s elimination in the round of 16, remains in contention for the Golden Boot. He owns an impressive 88-foot-long super yacht called “Azimut Grande,” worth £5.5 million, featuring luxurious amenities such as six bathrooms, five cabins, a contemporary kitchen, a living room, and a dining room. The yacht can travel at 28 knots and has two 1,900 horsepower motors, constructed with carbon fiber and weighing 93 tonnes.
