The Italian journalist announced on Twitter overnight that the 33-year-old will soon become the latest European player to join Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League.

Henderson’s departure to Saudi Arabia is without a doubt one of the more shocking signings of the summer, with Liverpool likely to recuperate £12 million for the England international.

The midfielder will not be the only Liverpool player to relocate to the Middle East, with Fabinho poised to join Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittihad when a transfer delay is resolved.

However, according to Romano’s latest report, Henderson’s move to Al-Ettifaq will be finalized first, with the midfielder expected to fly out to Saudi Arabia within the next 24 hours to complete the transfer.
