MU legend David Beckham urged the Glazer family to end the takeover story this summer by accepting leaving the red half of Manchester and making room for a new owner.
The former England winger is the current co-owner of Inter Miami, and recently recruited superstar Lionel Messi to his team .
However, in an interview with The Athletic, Beckham was very open when talking about his old club and the situation of the Glazer owner.
“Off the pitch, as a fan and as a former player, I just want things to be resolved. There has to be a decision (in regards to ownership).
“Whoever is running your club, you want them to be passionate, involved, make the right decisions, bring in the right players and invest in the club. Because the club needs it. investments, whether it’s training facilities, stadiums, football fields… these big things need to be done and changes need to happen, especially when you see Man City and the what they’re doing,” Beckham shared.
Beckham went on to admit that he believes it’s time for the Glazers to leave. When asked, the former player replied without hesitation: “I think so. I think it’s purely because the fans want it. Once you lose a fan, especially at a club like Man. United, it’s hard to get them back.
Obviously, they (the Glazers) have achieved a lot and financially, the fact that we are even talking about the money sold for the club Man United shows the success they have had. But change is needed. We’ve all seen it, we all know it.”
