The Manchester team have just reached an agreement to transfer striker Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta for a total fee of 72 million pounds.
Representatives of MU and Atalanta conducted a detailed discussion of the transfer fee and reached an agreement on the evening of July 29 (Italian time).
Accordingly, the Red Devils agreed to pay the partner £64 million (€75 million) in advance, another £8 million (€10 million) as a surcharge based on Hojlund’s performance in the future.
The 20-year-old Danish striker also made it clear his desire to join MU – the team he has been a fan of since childhood.
As a result, Rasmus Hojlund quickly agreed to personal terms on a five-year contract, with the option to extend it for an additional year.
The latest friendly match between Atalanta and Bournemouth, Hojlund is not on the registration list. After the game, he shook hands and said goodbye to his teammates.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said that Rasmus Hojlund will undergo a medical examination within the next 48 hours to be ready for his debut, MU against Lens on August 5.
If the deal is completed, Hojlund becomes the third rookie of the Old Trafford team this summer, after Mason Mount and Andre Onana.
Coach Ten Hag appreciated Hojlund’s potential, so he personally called to invite him to join MU.
Last season, Rasmus Hojlund scored 10 goals in 34 appearances with Atalanta. In 6 matches for Denmark, the 20-year-old striker achieved impressive performance with 6 goals.
To replace Hojlund, the Serie A team has also brought in young striker El Bilal Toure from Almeria for a fee of nearly 30 million euros.
