Klopp hails Reds star ‘fast like lightning’ after Leicester victory

During Liverpool’s preseason campaign, Jurgen Klopp waxed poetic over Luis Diaz’s form.

The winger had an injury-plagued 2022-23 season after being sidelined for six months with a major knee injury.

Diaz, on the other hand, returned to fitness in April and will look to improve on the thrilling performances he’s provided since joining from Porto for £37.5 million in January 2022.

On Sunday, the Colombia international came off the bench in the Reds’ 4-0 triumph over Leicester City in Singapore. Although Diaz did not score, his performance left Klopp ecstatic.

“It’s good,” Liverpool manager Klopp told LFC TV. The boys must deliver. That space is enormous, they’re all top-tier players, and Lucho certainly looks sharp, fresh, and speedy as hell. You can truly throw the ball to him and the outcome will be there. He can either supply something or finish it himself.

“In one case, the finish was imperfect, but the movement was completely free, and we could come down there and he could choose left or right.” A lot of nice stuff, a sensational atmosphere, and our level of appreciation is truly unique. Everyone here is wonderful – have a good day.”
