Cody Gakpo has revealed who his ‘best friend’ at Liverpool is.
The Dutchman was answering a series of questions from Reds fans in a video for the club’s official Twitter feed.
One of them was to identify the player with whom he has the closest friendship, and the response came as no surprise.
Gakpo responded, “Virgil, really close to him, helping me a lot,” before Ibrahima Konate’s entry, with the Dutch attacker gleefully asserting that the Frenchman is also his “friend.”
Knowing Van Dijk from international duty with the Netherlands, it was natural for the 24-year-old to have a relationship with the tall center-back before to his arrival at Liverpool last winter.
