‘Terms agreed’: Liverpool set to sign £50m ‘play breaker’ this week

Liverpool trounced Leicester City 4-0 in Singapore Wednesday, keeping their first clean sheet of the pre-season.

After bringing in Alexis MacAllister and Dominik Szoboszlai, the Merseysiders have been somewhat quiet in the summer transfer season.

Southampton playmaker Romeo Lavia has been extensively linked with a move to Anfield.

The Belgian international has agreed to terms on a contract with the Reds, who must still reach an agreement with the Saints to complete the transaction.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the recruitment of Lavia is a priority for the 19-time English champions, who will go to any length to secure his services.

According to the renowned Italian journalist (Caught Offside):

“Jurgen Klopp has mentioned working on midfield solutions, but my understanding is that the priority is still Romeo Lavia,”

“Liverpool are still focused on Lavia for the time being, and it’s not an easy deal.” Southampton insists on a £50 million package for Lavia, therefore negotiations are still underway but will resume next week.”

“Liverpool will try to find the best way to sign him, also because Chelsea is interested.”

Jordan Henderson served the club well, and we went on to win every major title under his leadership.

Although not technically talented, the England international was a constant source of energy in the center of the park and used to relentlessly press for the ball.

He was past his prime and inconsistent last season, so it made sense to move him, but the Reds now need a leader and a pressing machine to replace him.
