Inter Milan ready to sell 25 y/o ‘wizard’ to Liverpool, but Reds will have to pay ‘crazy’

Liverpool are looking at signing Italian midfielder Nicolo Barella this summer as Jurgen Klopp seeks to rebuild his midfield.

Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi is looking for two new goalkeepers to replace André Onana and Samir Handanovi and is nearing a midfield deal in the form of 26-year-old Lazar Samardi.

This move could pave the way for Liverpool to sign Barella, who would be the perfect finishing touch to Jurgen Klopp’s new-look midfield if a deal for Romeo Lavia is also completed.

What are the most recent Nicolo Barella Liverpool transfer rumors?

A agreement to recruit Samardi would cost Inter approximately €15 million (£12.8 million), and according to an Italian outlet Calciomercato.it published on Monday, Barella would no longer be considered “non-transferable.”

If true, this is an intriguing development for Liverpool, and both the Reds and Manchester City are said to be interested in the scenario, with Jurgen Klopp a “great admirer” of the Italian.

The manager has already spoken at length about Barella and has never shied away from expressing his admiration for his quick thinking, work ethic, and stamina.

“He’s a really good player, and I like him a lot,” Klopp remarked. He has everything you want in a midfielder: he’s combative, technical, can run for hours, and so on.

“He’s a first-rate player.”

Barella is one of the best midfielders in the world, and just seeing him play proves it. However, the statistics back up this assessment, with him outperforming some of the world’s top midfielders.

According to Transfermarkt, he scored 9 goals and had 10 assists last season, which is more than Liverpool’s midfielders combined.
