Coach Ten Hag spent a huge budget to recruit Real Madrid pillars after selling Harry Maguire

According to a report by Sky Sport UK, HLV Ten Hag is looking to sign a versatile player in case Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire are sold. West Ham is closely monitoring the situation of the two players on the side of MU. With the amount of money just received from the sale of Declan Rice, HLV David Moyes is ready to recruit both stars of the Red Devils in the summer transfer window of 2023.

Manchester United want to receive 85 million pounds from Scott McTominay (45) and Harry Maguire (40). West Ham is trying to negotiate to lower the price, but HLV Ten Hag remains firm as the contracts of both players are still quite long. The London-based representative is also at risk of being “forced to pay a high price” as they currently have a budget of up to 105 million pounds from the deal to send Declan Rice to Arsenal.

According to Sky Sport, the versatile player that HLV Ten Hag is targeting to upgrade the team is Real Madrid defender David Alaba. The Austrian star can play well in both the center back and left-back positions. Even when Pep Guardiola was leading Bayern Munich, Alaba had tried his hand at playing as a central midfielder and winger, and played well. This is the main reason why MU is willing to “break the bank” to recruit the Real Madrid pillar.

Regarding the transfer issue, MU and Real Madrid have had a very good relationship in recent years. The two contracts from Los Blancos – Casemiro and Varane – are both very important pillars for HLV Ten Hag. David Alaba is currently valued at 40 million euros by the transfer website Transfermarkt. On the Real Madrid side, they are willing to sell the Austrian center-back if they receive a reasonable offer (around 60-70 million euros for the remaining 3-year contract).

In conclusion, HLV Ten Hag is looking to sign a versatile player to upgrade the team, and David Alaba is the main target. Although MU and Real Madrid have a good relationship, the price to buy Alaba may be high. It remains to be seen whether West Ham can successfully lower the price of McTominay and Maguire, and whether MU will be able to successfully recruit Alaba in the upcoming transfer window.
