Man United manager John Murtough is ‘interested in a £13m goal machine’ as a four-way bidding war intensifies

Manchester United are interested in signing Santos attacker Marcos Leonardo, according to Calciomercato.it.

Rasmus Hojlund is on his way to the Red Devils from Atalanta. The club has agreed to pay an initial cost of €75 million for the Danish international.

Despite the significant investment, the club appears to be hunting for another center-forward. Calciomercato.United is one of the clubs interested in Leonardo, according to the source.

In five appearances for Brazil at the Under-20 World Cup, the 20-year-old scored five goals and assisted once. Santos is willing to part ways with him for €15 million.

Apart from Manchester United, Nottingham Forest are also interested in signing him, although Roma are currently the clear favourites to get him.

Erik ten Hag is on the hunt for a backup striker.

Hojlund is expected to be United’s main man up top once he adjusts to the Premier League.

Ten Hag has the option of naming Anthony Martial as his deputy, but considering his injury issues in previous seasons, the Frenchman is no longer a trusted figure.

As a result, the manager may want to bring in a young back-up striker. Leonardo would be an excellent addition because he has extensive experience for his young age.

The teenager has 47 goals and 11 assists in 149 games with Santos. In 30 games this season, he has 14 goals and four assists.

He might be a solid long-term option for United, although the club is currently trailing Roma in transfer talks.

Sky Sports One According to Angelo Mangiante of Italy, the Giallorossi are completing the details for Leonardo. United may need to act quickly to seize the contract.
