Former centre-back Rio Ferdinand thinks MU’s Ramus Hojlund could take a season to adapt to a new environment, like Darwin Nunez at Liverpool.
“The first thing you have to consider is the huge potential. Anyone who has watched Hojlund play will see that he has the qualities you want. He is suitable for the Premier League,” the former player said. MU’s opening.
“I think the transfer fee is out of Hojlund’s control. I see Darwin Nunez here. Last season was the season Nunez adapted. He was a young striker coming to the Premier League. Everything He’s both fit into the tournament perfectly, but it hasn’t gone as smoothly as he’d hoped.

Ferdinand’s assessment sounds quite reasonable because the Premier League has never been an easy environment to play with new players. Last season, Hojlund himself performed only at an acceptable level at Atalanta but nothing explosive, with 9 goals in 32 appearances in Serie A. Strictly judged, this is a poor number compared to a vanguard.
Last summer, Nunez joined Liverpool from Benfica with high expectations. The Uruguayan striker also has the form, speed and good dash to play in the Premier League. However, he has endured a difficult 2022/23 season with The Reds, scoring 15 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions. It would not be surprising if Hojlund was in the same situation as Nunez , when the transfer fee, high expectations and new environment like a mountain fell on his shoulders.
