The Miami Heat won the NBA’s Eastern Conference for the eighth time this season. The Heat are a familiar face in the NBA Playoffs and are led by superstar Jimmy Butler, who has elevated his game and inspired the club as a whole.
Despite Butler’s talent, his occasionally aggressive personality has prevented him from traveling. In quest of a place to call home, the man now known as Playoff Jimmy has moved across the NBA. In Florida, he has at last found others who share his values, but he has had some difficulty making Miami his permanent residence.
And his Heat colleagues are having some trouble breaking the Denver Nuggets’ defense to overcome Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and the rest of the club.
They might be able to obtain some advice from the man in charge, Pat Riley, the highly esteemed team president. Although the former head coach is rumored to have adopted a more hands-off approach lately, any pearls of wisdom from a guy who led five NBA teams to championships would probably be appreciated.
His real estate tactics off the court? Buy and hold in one of the most expensive markets in the country. For him, it has so far turned out to be a successful strategy. Let’s look at the real estate owned by the Heat! We’ll begin at the very top.
Jimmy Butler
Jimmy Butler, a Heat franchise player, has guided this Miami team to the championship game. Butler is a standout performer who shines most when the tempo is cranked up. His bravado and talent have given him the nickname “Playoff Jimmy.” The six-time All-Star has been a perfect fit for the Heat’s all-out style of play, which has been their trademark.
The gifted forward, often known as Jimmy Buckets, moved around Chicago, Minnesota, and Philadelphia before settling in Miami.
As a well-known (and well-paid) celebrity, Butler has kept busy managing homes all across the country. In the off-season, he resides in the warm Poway, California, which is close to San Diego. In 2020, he paid former baseball All-Star Matt Kemp for a 15,844-square-foot house.
Butler is depicted in a 2015 story living in the same house as a renter taking advantage of Southern California’s lifestyle. He eventually decided to buy the mansion because he liked it so much and was able to do so at a significant discount. In 2016, Kemp put the house on the market for $11.5 million; however, she ultimately sold it to an LLC connected to Butler for less than half that amount.
Butler still has a soft spot for the Windy City despite having parted ways with the Bulls in 2017. In the River North section of Chicago, he owns an apartment with two bedrooms. In 2018, he paid $1.2 million for the property. Butler was known to love the exposed brick, lofty ceilings, and seclusion of his space in The Ronsley building.
Butler did part with a grand Chicago mansion, also in the River North district, after being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The brick home, which has three outdoor spaces and 10,000 square feet, went on the market in July 2017 for $5 million. It was purchased for $4.2 million in November 2017.
Kevin Love
The seasoned Love, who joined the Heat in February, has served as a significant interior presence when he has come off the bench. He has experience because the Cleveland Cavaliers and him won the championship in 2016. He hasn’t had time to handle the sale of his Cleveland house because he was fired by the Cavaliers earlier this season.
The five-bedroom home was bought in 2015 for $1.3 million and is located in a gated neighborhood in the Bratenahl region. If adore doesn’t truly adore staying in Cleveland while his work pulls him away, the mansion, which is only a few blocks from Lake Erie, will probably end up on the market this summer.
But when an off-season residence in NYC is available, who needs Cleveland? A 2020 story claims that Love and his wife reside at 70 Vestry in Tribeca.
The Robert A.M. Stern-designed structure is located directly on the Hudson River shoreline and provides inhabitants with a “complete lifestyle package” that includes a number of upscale facilities like a concierge, an 82-foot indoor pool, and entertaining areas.
Love seems to have set up shop at a posh condo in Coconut Grove while in Miami. The One Park Grove building’s three-bedroom suite had been listed for rent at a price of $42,000 per month.
Bam Adebayo
Bam Adebayo, a fellow Heat forward, also enjoys living in high-rises and appears to be a tenant like Love. Despite the fact that Adebayo has been a member of the Heat since his rookie season debut in 2017, we were unable to locate any proof that he has acquired a home of his own.
Although he may still be a renter, Adebayo is in the middle of a five-year, $163 million contract extension.
Leaving that aside, it appears that he resides in a high-floor apartment in the downtown Miami 50 Biscayne building. The apartment, which is about a 10-minute stroll from the Heat’s arena, was for rent in 2017 for $3,000 per month. We assume that throughout the previous six years, the rate has increased, but so has Adebayo’s status.
Tyler Herro
Despite missing the Heat’s postseason run due to injury, Herro will have more time to work on his hand rehabilitation in his Pinecrest house. At the end of 2022, he paid $10.5 million for the eight-bedroom house, a figure that set a new record in the neighborhood.
The spec house, advertised as “The Crown Jewel of Pinecrest,” was built in 2021 and listed in August 2022 for $11,850,000. The 9,505 square foot residence has stunning interior design, water elements, and a tropical, contemporary, and loosely Balinese vibe.
