On Thursday morning, Tom Brady made an unexpected “family” revelation that he “couldn’t be more excited” about.
The retired NFL quarterback could soon be spending time away from home after sharing an unexpected video on Instagram in which he disclosed a huge change that could see him temporarily travel to England for his “Blues family.”
Tom captioned the video, “HERE WE GO! I’m overjoyed to be a part of the Blues family. This is a growing city and club, and I can’t wait to experience the St. Andrew’s vibe for myself. @bcfc, #KeepRightOn.”
His fans were taken aback by the news, but they were quick to react on the seven-time Super Bowl champion’s decision to join another football team. “Well, well, what do we have here…?” Excited about this, pleased for you, best wishes to Birmingham, and hope to see you in the [Premiere League] soon.”
“Yes!!!” exclaimed a second. Why am I so pleased that Americans are visiting the UK?” “I support you no matter what the hell you do,” a third added. “Go, blue soccer team.” “No way!!!!!” wrote a fourth. Welcome, Tom Brady!!! The blues look beautiful on you as well!!!!”
Tom will not be playing for Birmingham City. Instead, he has “entered a partnership” with the Blues’ new owners, Knighthead Capital Management LLC, to become a minority owner of the Championship team. In addition, he will serve as chairman of a new advisory board at their home stadium, St Andrew’s.
“Tom Brady’s signing with Birmingham City is a statement of intent.” In a statement, Knighthead co-founder Tom Wagner said, “We are raising the bar to world-class.” “Tom is both investing and committing his time and vast expertise.” Tom will have a direct impact on the club as chair of the advisory board. The men’s, women’s, and academy teams will benefit from [his] expertise.”
“The goal that Tom has committed to is to make Birmingham City a respected leader in nutrition, health, wellness, and recovery throughout the football world,” he continued.
