Concepts, a Boston-based, now-international sneaker store, has collaborated with Under Armour to create an incredibly limited sneaker honoring Tom Brady and his historic fifth Super Bowl victory during the 2016-2017 NFL season.
Deon Point, Concepts’ work hard/party hard leader and general manager, got to present the one-of-a-kind sneaker to Tom Brady at Gillette Stadium (if that isn’t a once-in-a-lifetime moment, I don’t know what is). Every aspect, from the tissue paper to the box, will, according to Point, pay honor to Brady and his legacy.
Interestingly, Tom Brady was one of the Under Armour athletes who tested the ArchiTech Futurist’s 3D printed tooling prior to its introduction. Due to the complexity of the midsole unit on the ArchiTech Futurist, it takes one full day to print, according to an Under Armour designer who talked with us on the condition of anonymity.
Only 100 pairs of the ‘Tom Brady’ 3D printed Under Armour ArchiTech Futurist will be available worldwide. It will be available exclusively at Concepts Cambridge on September 7 at 10 a.m. EDT in time for the New England Patriots’ season opener. The remaining pairs will be available online at 11 a.m. EDT. While no pricing has been mentioned, the ArchiTech Futurist generally sells for $300.
