Man Utd need to sell TWO stars to seal Amrabat deal, Fiorentina waiting for ‘crazy’ bid

Manchester United have yet to submit an official proposal for summer transfer target Sofyan Amrabat, who is expected to depart Fiorentina in the coming weeks.

Fiorentina are still waiting for Manchester United to make a formal approach for Sofyan Amrabat.

After shining for the Atlas Lions in the 2022 World Cup, the Moroccan international has a slew of suitors from all around Europe. United are reportedly interested in signing the 26-year-old, but funds are limited at Old Trafford following the signings of Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund for large transfer fees.

According to La Repubblica, through Football Italia, United have yet to make an official offer for his services. Furthermore, it is alleged that the Italian outfit is ready to sell Amrabat for €30 million (£25.9 million) if a deal is received.

Bayern Munich are also fans of the playmaker, with Sky Sports Germany suggesting that Amrabat is on their shortlist. The player’s management are thought to be aware of Thomas Tuchel’s intention to buy a No.6 before September 1; and, unlike Manchester United, Bayern would not be forced to sell players to fund a deal for Amrabat.

Amrabat was not included in Fiorentina’s squad that traveled to England this weekend to play in the Sela Cup at St James’ Park due to uncertainty over his future. The midfielder has been left in Italy and will not play against Newcastle United or OGC Nice.

Manchester United will now focus on unloading a handful of players who are surplus to requirements after completing a £72 million deal for Hojlund this weekend.

Fred and Donny van de Beek, both midfielders, are anticipated to battle for minutes this season and are believed to be available for transfer. The former has been connected with Galatasaray and Fulham, while Van de Beek has been mentioned as a Real Sociedad target.

Scott McTominay has also piqued the interest of West Ham, who had a £20 million bid for Harry Maguire rejected by Manchester United earlier in the summer season.

Ten Hag intimated that he wanted to do more business before Saturday’s 3-1 triumph against RC Lens. He told MUTV, “We always want more [signings].”We can never be satisfied since we are continually striving for greater heights.

“However, as I previously stated, high levels must also come from the way of playing and improving.” We strive hard every day to enhance our game and individuals by lifting the bar.

“We want to set the bar high.”
