According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign Brentford goalkeeper David Raya for £ 30 million. His contract runs until June 2028.
Romano posted on his personal Twitter with the following content: “Arsenal has reached an agreement to sign goalkeeper David Raya. The transfer price has also been agreed with Brentford.”
” Raya reached a personal agreement with the Gunners last week. The paperwork is being finalized and the goalkeeper will undergo a medical this week.”
According to Romano, the price of this deal will be 30 million pounds. Raya will sign a contract with Arsenal until June 2028. Thus, Brentford will earn a large profit when they only have to spend £ 2.7 million to buy Raya from Blackburn in 2019.
Earlier, the Spaniard had informed his host team, Brentford, that he was ready to join the London Gunners.
David Raya is in the prime of his career. He helped Brentford win a place in the Premier League in 2021 and became a reliable keeper with 12 clean sheets last season.
The strong point of this goalkeeper is his reflexes and impressive ability to play the ball with his feet. Therefore, coach Mikel Arteta wants to bring Raya to compete directly with Aaron Ramsdale.
If successfully recruiting the Brentford keeper, Arsenal will allow number 2 goalkeeper Matt Turner to join Nottingham Forest for a fee of £ 15 million.
Brentford has also been proactive for a Raya-free future by signing Dutch international Mark Flekken for £11m from German club Freiburg in May.
