Every year, the NBA 2K franchise’s famous graphics impress its following.
Aside from some game types and such, the game has remained largely unchanged over the years.
Even still, it’s mind-boggling to consider that LeBron James has been a part of the franchise since its inception, as the first NBA2K game was released in 1999, and James first appeared in the league in 2003.
With that in mind, fans flocked to Twitter to respond to NBACentral’s tweet featuring James in the most recent version of the game, and the responses did not disappoint.
James is on pace to break the NBA record for most seasons played.
Vince Carter played in the NBA for 22 seasons, but unlike LeBron, he was unable to maintain the same level of effort and remain a constant standout throughout.
James’ unrivaled athleticism and body care have enabled him stay relevant for two decades, playing at the highest level and being in the conversation for “best player in the league” for far longer than any of his predecessors.
Of course, he’ll likely take a few steps back in the coming years as Father Time takes no prisoners, and the Los Angeles Lakers will have to rely on his supporting cast to keep him fresh for when it matters the most.
Even yet, the fact that he is still going strong after all this time speaks volumes about him as one of the best athletes of all time.
