WEGHORST’S PERSONAL MESSAGE TO MAN UNITED FANS

Wout Weghorst expressed his gratitude towards the fans of Manchester United for their support during his loan spell at Old Trafford. The 31-year-old striker took a moment to reflect on his time with the club in the latter half of the 2022/23 season.

In a heartfelt video shared on his Instagram account, Weghorst thanked the Manchester United supporters for making his experience at the club so special. He mentioned his enjoyment of every second spent at the club, from winning trophies to scoring his first goal at Old Trafford against Betis. He expressed his pride in wearing the United badge and wished the fans all the best for the future.

During an interview with the club, Weghorst highlighted some of his memorable moments, including his involvement in the Wembley victories over Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final and Brighton & Hove Albion in the Emirates FA Cup semi-final. He described the Carabao Cup final as a beautiful memory and a wonderful day to win his first trophy. Weghorst also mentioned the semi-final and his relief and happiness, which led to his celebrated slide in front of the fans.

Regarding the penalty shootout against Brighton, Weghorst clarified that he didn’t kiss the ball as some had speculated. Instead, he revealed that he had a simple exchange with Solly March, advising him not to shoot left. Weghorst admitted that he hoped this would play a small psychological role in the shootout but didn’t believe it made a significant difference.

Weghorst expressed his immense pride and gratitude for the opportunity to wear the famous red shirt of Manchester United. He described the club as amazing, big, and the most beautiful club in England.
