Alejandro Garnacho appears to be on the verge of a new squad number at Manchester United, according to a clue discovered on the club’s official website

Man United will play Wolves in their first Premier League game of the 2023/24 season on Monday.

Garnacho, one of the Red Devils’ starlets, does not have a squad number ahead of the club’s first league match of the new season.

According to the club’s official website, the 19-year-old is NOT on the Man United store’s list of players.

Last season, the Argentine winger wore the No.49 jersey, and he has continued to wear it in pre-season.

However, Garnacho’s No.49 shirt is no longer available in the Manchester United shop, implying that a new squad number is in the works for the 2018 season.

Following the departures of David de Gea and Phil Jones, the only first-team squad numbers available are Nos. 1 and 4.

The next available squad numbers are Nos. 13 and 15, followed by Nos. 30, 31, and 32, all of which are currently vacant. If Raphael Varane grabs the No.4 shirt for the new season, No.19 could become available.

Garnacho was connected with the No.7 shirt following Cristiano Ronaldo’s unexpected leave from Old Trafford.

Mason Mount, a £55 million summer acquisition from Chelsea, took the legendary Man United shirt number, following in the footsteps of David Beckham, Bryan Robson, and Edinson Cavani, among others.

What number will Garnacho wear in the upcoming season? Please let us know what you think.
