Goalkeeper Matt Turner joined Nottingham Forest from Arsenal, leaving many regrets for Gunners fans. After leaving, Turner wrote a farewell letter to the old team.
American goalkeeper Matt Turner joined Nottingham Forest from Arsenal for £10 million on August 9.
Turner signed a four-year contract with Forest, a year since he joined Arsenal after playing for the New England Revolution.
The 29-year-old goalkeeper was on the US team’s starting list in all four matches at the 2022 World Cup, but he was only a reserve option at the Gunners last season. Turner’s chances of playing became even less after the Emirates team brought in David Raya from Brentford.
That is the reason why the beloved player at Arsenal chose to leave. Turner himself also loves the Gunners very much, so he wrote a letter to thank the London team, as well as to meet his old teammates in the upcoming football matches.
“What a wonderful time. Thank you so much for the memories, Gooners (Gunners fans). I give my all every day to push myself and help the team the most with the best of the best. whatever I can, I hope the fans were able to feel it.”
“My family will forever consider North London our dear home. My son Easton seems to have fallen in love with this sport as well. We have achieved many things and made beautiful friendships at here. Arsenal.”
“That said, now is the time for a new journey in my career and for my new life and home. I’m so excited for what’s to come. See you soon. at another time, my friends.”
