According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool sent an offer of up to 110 million pounds to buy Moises Caicedo to Brighton and was approved. Previously, the Ecuadorian midfielder was on Chelsea’s radar during the summer.
Specifically, Liverpool contacted Brighton about Caicedo’s case on Thursday morning (local time), and confirmed that it will officially send an offer to buy this player on Friday.
Meanwhile, Chelsea has not given up trying to get Caicedo. This team has just been refused by Southampton to sell Romeo Lavia – which has been a target of Liverpool since the beginning of the summer transfer window – for £48 million and is expected to return to focus on the Caicedo case to get this player in Next Sunday.
On the Brighton side, they want a final answer on the Ecuadorian midfielder’s future within the next 24 hours. This team publicly confirmed that it would agree to sell Caicedo to any team that bids higher, regardless of the player’s wishes.
Liverpool will soon make an official bid, with a price certainly higher than the £80 million Chelsea offered a few days ago. They think that after three unsuccessful negotiations with Southampton about Romeo Lavia, this is a good opportunity to get Caicedo. The Blues will not be left out.
In addition to Liverpool and Chelsea, Bayern Munich have also contacted Brighton about Caicedo, but have not made a specific move.
