Moises Caicedo looks poised to join Liverpool after a rollercoaster day in the Moises Caicedo affair, with the Reds making a late bid to grab the Brighton midfielder.
Even as recently as this morning, it was reported that late interest from Liverpool would not be enough to derail Chelsea’s commanding lead in the race to sign him.
The Blues had pursued Caicedo all summer, and after making little progress in recent weeks, it appeared that they would ultimately capitulate and pay the £100 million or more that Brighton demanded.
But Liverpool have clearly been waiting for the right moment to strike. According to TalkSport, Jurgen Klopp’s club will pay Brighton’s asking price and are eager to get Caicedo a physical as soon as possible to finalize the deal.
If this happens, Chelsea will be in a lot of trouble. They’ve sold their midfield, spent the summer chasing one star, and then failed to sign him.
