As an incredible day in the Moises Caicedo saga, the midfielder now looks ready to join Liverpool as the Reds made a crucial late lunge to grab the Brighton star.
Even as recently as this morning, it was reported that late interest from Liverpool would not be enough to derail Chelsea’s huge lead in the race to sign him.
The Blues had pursued Caicedo all summer and, despite making little headway in recent weeks, were extremely likely to eventually capitulate and pay the £100 million or more that Brighton demanded.
Liverpool, on the other hand, has clearly been waiting for the right moment to strike. According to TalkSport, Jurgen Klopp’s club will pay the money requested by Brighton and are eager to get Caicedo a medical as soon as possible to finalize the deal.
If it happens, Chelsea will be in a lot of trouble. They’ve sold their midfield, hunted one star all summer, and then failed to sign him.
