Man United: 4 players on exit list as Harry Maguire replacement lined-up

Manchester United have spent almost £150 million this summer, but they are far from finished.

Erik ten Hag has brought in a number of key targets to address issue spots, but another new midfielder could be on the way. A handful of players are also poised to quit Old Trafford, with Ten Hag believing them surplus to requirements.

Last season, the Dutchman established numerous stable partnerships in defense and midfield, and such combinations are expected to remain this season, leaving several players on the perimeter of the first-team. Here’s the latest from Manchester’s red quarter.

Quartet preparing to exit

Ten Hag is prepared to sanction the departures of four Manchester United players in order to earn finances for future signings.

The Dutchman stated last weekend that he was satisfied with his squad, but he may be persuaded to return to the transfer market. But the former Ajax manager would have to sell first, with some players looking for a way out of Old Trafford after sliding down the pecking order.

Fred is the most recent player to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford. Last season, the 30-year-old made just 11 Premier League starts, and Mount’s arrival, combined with Christian Eriksen’s return to full fitness, should only reduce Fred’s game time. The Red Devils are also expected to sell Harry Maguire, Donny van de Beek, and Scott McTominay.

Maguire replacements are being considered

With Maguire likely on his way out of Old Trafford, United are looking to guarantee they have a strong defensive lineup.

According to the Daily Star, negotiations with Bayern Munich have begun on a move for Benjamin Pavard, who is eager to make the switch. The 2018 World Cup winner from France has fallen out of favor at the Allianz Arena.

United are examining a number of potential replacements, including Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez, with Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo also on the list.

Cottagers return for Fred

Fulham are preparing to renew their interest in Fred, who was linked with a move away from Manchester earlier this summer.

After the final game of last season, the Brazilian and Cottagers manager Marco Silva were seen conversing. The Daily Mail learns that the west Londoners, who appeared to have lost interest, are now ready to relaunch their pursuit of Fred.

United are worth roughly £20 million for the midfielder, and selling him might bankroll a move for Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat. Ten Hag is still trying to add to his middle-of-the-park roster.
