According to Justin Kluivert, Tom Brady and Michael B Jordan investing in British football clubs demonstrates that “everybody wants a piece” of the beautiful game.
A-list Last year, Hollywood actor Jordan invested in Bournemouth, while NFL great Brady, one of the world’s most successful athletes, just invested in Championship team Birmingham City.
Last season, Jordan’s investment helped Bournemouth avoid relegation from the Premier League, and the Cherries have made some significant signings this transfer window.
Kluivert, the son of former Milan, Barcelona, and Newcastle United great Patrick Kluivert, is one of those acquisitions, joining from Roma.
While he has yet to meet Jordan, Kluivert believes the superstar’s investment demonstrates football’s allure.
“Of course, football is the most beautiful sport there is,” Kluivert told Stats Perform in an exclusive interview.
“So everybody knows that, and everyone wants a piece of that, and that’s beautiful.”
Kluivert also cited the expansion of women’s football and the influx of star players to the Saudi Pro League as evidence that football is constantly evolving.
“You can see how big women’s football is getting, and it’s only getting bigger and bigger,” he added.
“You can already see in Saudi Arabia that this league is going to be very good.” I believe in America as well, so it’s going global, extremely large.
“I think everyone who loves football, loves to watch it, and wants to be a part of it is going to want a piece of that.” That’s very great.”
Jordan is not the first Hollywood star to have invested in a club; Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have turned Wrexham into a global brand since taking over the Welsh club in 2020.
