Romeo Lavia is still keen on joining Liverpool despite Moises Caicedo agreement with Liverpool

Despite Liverpool’s approach for Moises Caicedo, Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia remains keen on joining.

Liverpool have made three bids for Lavia in recent weeks, but all three were rejected. But, having seen an opportunity to sign Caicedo, the Reds appear to have abandoned their pursuit of the 19-year-old.

Unfortunately, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, that appears to be a severe blow to Lavia. Tavolieri stated on Twitter Friday evening that despite a Chelsea offer, the boy still wanted to join Liverpool.

“The situation remains the same, and his mind is clear,” the journalist explains. “Even though Chelsea’s bid was rejected this morning, I’ve been told Romeo Lavia likes Liverpool and wants to be a part of Liverpool FC.”

“Tonight’s poker game with Moises Caicedo’s case will be decisive and will have an impact on the Belgian midfielder’s future, but it is now up to the clubs.” “Time is ticking.”

Lavia is set to miss out on a chance to play for Liverpool.

Liverpool this summer cannot be predicted after making one of the most surprising decisions in the transfer market.

But, given the agreed-upon amount for Caicedo, we don’t see how they can come back in for Lavia as well.

There is also the possibility that Jurgen Klopp does not require both players. Given Caicedo’s talent, his presence alone – alongside Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai – could be sufficient.

Caicedo is clearly being touted as Fabinho’s replacement in defensive midfield. Liverpool don’t actually need two new players in that position, as Stefan Bajcetic can provide cover.

Unfortunately, it appears that Lavia will miss out on his dream job this summer. He should be given another chance because he is a ‘great’ player [Pep Guardiola via mancity.com]. But it’s unlikely to be the one he’s looking for.

Thiago Alcantara’s future remains uncertain, which may be the only ray of hope he has left. The Spaniard is said to be prepared to turn down any approaches for him in the coming weeks, but that stance could be put to the test.

Thiago will leave Anfield at the very least next summer, when his contract expires. As a result, Liverpool may want to prepare. Lavia should be the man in that situation.
