The rookie number-one overall pick, Connor Bedard, and the apparel company have announced a new collaboration.
The first overall draft pick in 2023, Connor Bedard, and Sherwood Hockey have announced an exclusive brand collaboration. Going forward, Bedard will only use the brand during NHL games. On the ice, Bedard will only use gloves and sticks made by Sherwood Rekker.
Sherwood Hockey made the announcement today on Twitter and Instagram.
The Chicago supporters must be thrilled because here is their first actual look of Bedard wearing a Chicago Blackhawks uniform. However, some hockey fans and experts are perplexed by what seems to be a swing and a miss by well-known hockey brand Bauer in failing to partner with the young sensation.
By adding Connor Bedard to their roster, Sherwood Hockey significantly strengthened the brand rebirth that started in 2020. Bedard is a prominent member of the Sherwood brand ambassadors team, joining Alex DeBrincat, William Nylander, and Matthew Tkachuk. The Sherwood crew undoubtedly caught the largest fish in the pond if they were ice fishing.
With the Blackhawks, Bedard is starting his first season with high expectations and has drawn comparisons to superstars like Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby. The young center will now have the tools to demonstrate it.
