Jimmy Butler spent $7.4 million on a house in the South Miami neighborhood while leading the Miami Heat to a potential NBA championship run.
According to public documents, a company run by the five-time NBA All-Star purchased the six-bedroom, six-bath home at 7416 Southwest 49th Place in the Stonegate gated enclave. The residence is in unincorporated Miami-Dade, close to South Miami and Coral Gables.
The region has seen an increase in home prices, and Butler’s acquisition probably sets a record for the Stonegate neighborhood, where recent transactions have been under $5 million.
Last summer, Butler and the Heat agreed to a four-year, $184 million deal extension.
The two-story, 6,148-square-foot home owned by Alejandro and Jolie Duenas was sold. In 2000, it was completed. According to records, the couple paid $2.8 million for the house in 2009. According to the website, Stonegate has 12 houses total.
According to the listing, Butler’s new residence has designer finishes, soaring ceilings, and oak hardwood floors. A family area, office, and spa-inspired bathroom are all included in the master bedroom. A three-car garage, saltwater pool, and built-in BBQ area are further features of the home.
The almost 9,000-square-foot mansion Butler previously owned is around 3 miles away from the house. In September, a month before the current NBA season began, the Heat’s all-time triple double leader sold the property to venture capitalist Reshma Sohoni for $7.1 million.
Butler is the captain of the Miami Heat, who have a 32-20 record and are now third in the Eastern Conference, shocking many NBA analysts.
The region from Pinecrest to the Ponce-Davis neighborhood, where Butler recently bought, has historically drawn professional athletes. Alex Rodriguez, a former New York Yankee who is now a significant real estate investor, as well as former NFL player Desmond Howard, both reside nearby. Dwyane Wade, a retired Miami Heat player, as well as Chris “Birdman” Anderson and Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway, former Heat players, all owned homes in Pinecrest.
NBA stars have been purchasing less suburban residences further east.A penthouse at the upcoming E11even Residences Beyond project in downtown Miami, which is predicted to sell for up to $18 million, has been purchased by Jusuf Nurki of the Portland Trail Blazers. Butler’s Miami Heat teammate Victor Oladipo shelled out $7.8 million for a non-waterfront spec house in Miami Beach last year.
