Fred bids farewell to Manchester United ahead of Fenerbahce move
Brazilian midfielder Fred has sent a heartfelt farewell message to Manchester United as he prepares to join Fenerbahce. After five years at the club, Fred expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world. Despite facing both ups and downs during his time at Old Trafford, he always gave his best in training and matches. Fred, who won the Carabao Cup title with United last season, acknowledged that it was a dream come true for him and his family.
During his tenure at Manchester United, Fred made 139 appearances for the club. However, in recent times, he struggled to maintain a regular starting position, often serving as a substitute for the midfield duo of Eriksen and Casemiro. This summer, United also brought in Mason Mount to bolster their midfield options.
Fred’s move to Fenerbahce has been completed for a transfer fee of 15 million euros. This amount is significantly lower than the 59 million euros that Manchester United initially spent to acquire him from Shakhtar Donetsk.
In search of a replacement for Fred, Manchester United has shown interest in Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat. The club is expected to finalize the acquisition of Amrabat after completing the transfers of Maguire to West Ham and Fred to Fenerbahce. The potential sale of Maguire to West Ham is reportedly in advanced stages.
