Aaron Gordon is getting into Nikola Jokic’s hobbies, going horse racing in Serbia with the Finals MVP.
Nikola Jokic, the team’s skipper and Finals MVP, stated his eagerness to return home to Serbia and watch his horse race moments after the Denver Nuggets secured the 2023 NBA Championships.
Many fans have been perplexed by Jokic’s horse obsession, but it appears that his teammates are taking an interest alongside the team leader. Aaron Gordon was observed in Serbia with Jokic, watching a televised race of horses.
Jokic’s horse appears to have won the race, as the Serbian center and Gordon are shown celebrating with a prize in another photo that has surfaced.
Earlier in the offseason, Jokic’s horse also won a famous race in Serbia. Gordon will depart Serbia with some silverware before the start of training camp in September, capping off a title-filled summer for the Nuggets.
In the 2023 Playoffs, Gordon averaged 13.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game, while Jokic dominated with 30.0 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 9.5 assists.
The Denver Nuggets Wish To Establish A Dynasty
The Nuggets have won their first title, but they are definitely ambitious enough to pursue additional success. Head coach Michael Malone wants the squad to become a modern dynasty, but that will be easier said than done.
The squad lost playoff contributors Bruce Brown and Jeff Green over the summer and did not fully replace them with free-agent additions. They do, however, have a young cast of players like Christian Braun waiting for further opportunities.
Because of their youth, Braun, Peyton Watson, and others will not only be coachable, but will also allow the Nuggets to extend their window of success for more than one season.
