A 100-year-old Denver Nuggets fan was surprised by the team.
Sometimes it’s the little things that count. The Denver Nuggets understand this better than anyone else.
The Denver7 news station ran an astonishing story about the Denver Nuggets surprised Bob Webb, a 100-year-old superfan.
Bob’s prior interview with Denver7, in which he stated that the Nuggets winning a championship was close to the best moment of his 100-year life, with only the birth of his daughter coming close. Last season, he did not miss a single game.
The Nuggets sent out their iconic mascot Rocky to surprise Webb on his birthday with a slew of presents. Among the gifts were an autographed Nuggets jersey from Christian Braun, specially-made cookies, and bespoke Nuggets birthday banner. The team function included a replica trophy for Bob to photograph on his birthday. It was a happy occasion for him, and he told the crew that he’d see them on his 200th birthday.
Sometimes all it takes is a kind gesture to brighten someone’s day. Bob’s birthday party was devoid of Nuggets players, but it didn’t matter to him. It was the delight of knowing that his favorite team cared enough to attend his birthday, recognize him, and shower him with gifts. Bob’s 100th birthday will be one he recalls for the rest of his life.
