Liverpool is reportedly interested in acquiring PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangaré, who may be an ideal addition to Jürgen Klopp’s squad.
According to Kiki Musampa, the brother of Sangaré’s agent, the Reds have joined PSG and Bayern Munich in their pursuit of the midfielder. In an interview with ESPN Netherlands, he stated, “There are big clubs interested, such as Bayern Munich.”
“Ibrahim is also on the radar at PSG and Liverpool, but he is not yet a priority there.” Nottingham Forest had made an offer, but it was insufficient.”
Aston Villa had previously been linked with the 25-year-old, though a transfer to England has yet to materialize.
Regardless, the vacancies in Liverpool’s midfield provide the ideal opportunity for Sangaré to now make the jump into English football’s top division, with his distinctive talents and physical features offering the necessary reinforcement Klopp requires in front of his defense. It could be time for Jörg Schmadtke to take action.
It goes without saying that Liverpool is looking for a defensive midfielder. Its pursuit of Moisés Caicedo and Roméo Lavia emphasizes the squad’s inadequacies, with Sangaré the latest name to be added to Schmadtke’s ever-growing list of prospective answers.
Defensive reinforcements are required, which Sangaré’s 1.9 meter frame would provide. He is fierce on the defensive end of the game, averaging 2.5 tackles, 1.5 blocks, and 1.9 clearances per 90 minutes, and provides the ideal barrier ahead of the defense for Klopp to look to in order to fortify his team.
He is a powerful presence on the pitch, as evidenced by his 58% success rate in tackles against dribblers, but his contribution is not restricted to just aspect of the game.
Along with his eagerness to get the ball back for his team, he is also eager to keep it and advance to help his teammates. Sangaré consistently displays his great passing range and accuracy while in possession, averaging just under eight progressive passes per game and an 84% completion rate.
The player possesses a wide range of abilities and, at only 25 years old, is far from being the final product in terms of peak performance. With an apparent release clause of only $41 million (£32 million/€37 million), Liverpool and Schmadtke might once again obtain the services of a high-caliber midfielder for a fraction of the market price, given past transfers done by its rivals.
With Alexis MacAllister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Curt Jones, and Trent Alexander-Arnold in his new role, Liverpool possesses the ball-playing and creative talent to hurt any opponent. By combining this with Sangaré’s ball-winning abilities and other qualities, Schmadtke may be able to provide Klopp with one of the most well-balanced and solidified midfields in the Premier League.
