NBA 2K24 includes a number of brand-new features in addition to Jimmy Butler’s timeout taunt, which was first featured in the 2022–23 NBA Playoffs. The opportunity to mimic techniques used by the NBA’s top players will be available to players thanks to the brand-new “Pro Play” system.

NBA 2K on X, formerly Twitter, showcased side-by-side footage of in-game animations in comparison to real-life footage in a trailer. The designers were able to accurately reproduce real footage in the game, including Steph Curry’s step-back three and Kevin Durant’s bump-fade from midrange.

The studio has previously employed motion capture to recreate player animations from real-world scenes. Famed streetball player “The Professor” disclosed that he had previously worked with NBA 2K while speaking with Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett.

He donned a motion-capture suit at the time to simulate a variety of jump shots that were included in the game. NBA 2K24 will be the first game where producers can utilize genuine film to reproduce real footage, however the company is still anticipated to use motion capture.

Fans will eagerly dive into the newest version of the game when it launches on September 8 and explore all the newest features. According to reports, the ‘Pro Play’ has created a lot of buzz among fans in the run-up to the release.

Only time will tell if the new technology is successful after the game is released.
