Ezekiel Elliott was traded to the New England Patriots, which is one of the greatest pieces of news ahead of the upcoming NFL season. After seven seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott, he is leaving. During that time, Elliott established himself as one of the top running backs in the NFL.
Elliott has been to three Pro Bowls and has led the league in rushing yards twice, in 2016 and 2018. Dak Prescott became one of his finest teammates throughout that time. Almost every football team need a strong connection between the quarterback and the running back. They are involved or interact in 95% of the game’s plays. Dallas Cowboys supporters were waiting for Dak Prescott’s reaction to the news.
Elliott was no longer a member of the Dallas Cowboys
To be clear, Ezekiel Elliott did not return to the Dallas Cowboys after being released earlier this year. The running back opted to look for a new team and had the best experience when he went to see the New England Patriots. Elliott had a tremendous rookie season, but he hasn’t done anything close since. He’s come close to matching that year, but not quite at the same level.
Elliott has been playing under the radar for a few seasons now, so the New England Patriots will be hoping for that opportunity to return. Dak did post an Instagram Story wishing Elliott the best, but there was no longer post.
Ezekiel Elliott is already working hard to get to the level he was at during his first season now that he has left the Cowboys. Zeke is expected to make his New England Patriots debut during the upcoming pre-season Week 2 game against the Green Bay Packers. This game will be played on Sunday at Lambeau Field as all teams prepare for the regular season. It is now up to him to work hard in order to persuade coach Bellichick that he can regain his finest form.
