Man Utd began their Premier League season with a narrow 1-0 victory over Wolves, but coach Erik Ten Hag is still aiming to strengthen the squad. According to MailOnline, Benjamin Pavard is keen on joining Manchester United despite Bayern Munich’s desire to retain him at the Allianz Arena.
Reports indicate that Man Utd have returned to the negotiation table with a second offer for the French international, who is valued at £26m. Their initial offer was turned down by Bayern Munich, although Man Utd had already reached a personal agreement with Pavard.
GIVEMESPORT quoted Jones as saying, “They (Man Utd) are looking for someone to replace Maguire, and it seems like Pavard is their primary target at the moment. They are actively pursuing him.”
Pavard is a versatile defender capable of playing at right-back and center-back. He is Ten Hag’s top priority if Harry Maguire departs. Alongside Man Utd, Juventus is also interested in acquiring the 27-year-old player. With less than 12 months remaining on his contract with Bayern, the club faces the risk of losing Pavard next summer if they do not sell him during this transfer window.
